The FCCBB Terlingua Center is in the Ghost Town of Terlingua, Texas. Here, FCCBB is also known as Casa de la Cultura.
All services provided by FCCBB are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL.
FCCBB also provides essential services to the local community, such as individual assistance in filling out government forms, fund raising activities for those in need, and help for crime victims. An experienced and highly qualified Crisis Services Specialist is on staff and available from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday.
Our center is located in the heart of the Terlingua Ghost Town, next to the Trading Company. There is ample room for community activities, a large commercial style kitchen capable of serving over a hundred people with cafeteria efficiency, and large rooms containing tables and chairs for meetings.
MEDIA AND TECHNOLOGY
A huge library of books and audio/video media is available to the community, as well as computer workstations and free WiFi connections to the Internet, two telephone lines and a Digital Subscriber Line which offers worldwide communication capabilities.
We operate a food distribution system in co-operation with the West Texas Food Bank. Every month, using locally donated funds, we buy a truckload of food and distribute it to needy families in the Terlingua area. We also provide emergency food and assistance as needed. Food and water is also available for family emergencies when needed.
Please call (432) 371-3147 for more information about the monthly distribution.
A group of volunteers and community activists assist the Staff in daily activities. Our services include:
